Understand the loss limits

Check whether daily loss includes floating losses, commissions and swaps, and when the daily calculation resets. Determine whether maximum drawdown is static or trailing and whether it is measured on balance or equity.

Read the target and time rules

Confirm profit targets, minimum trading days, time limits, inactivity rules and any consistency requirements. Ask how news trading, overnight positions, weekends, copy trading, EAs and hedging are treated.

Verify payout eligibility

Review the first payout date, minimum profitable days, payout split, fees, identity checks and reasons a payout can be withheld. Save a copy of the rules in force when you purchase.

Identify prohibited behavior

Terms may restrict latency arbitrage, exploitation of pricing errors, account sharing, certain third-party signals or coordinated trading. Do not rely on social-media summaries; verify the exact rule with the provider.

Compare total cost and failure risk

Compare challenge fees, reset fees, refund conditions, program stages and restrictions—not only advertised account size or profit split. Consider the fee as money that can be lost.

Due-diligence checklist

Who is the contracting entity? Which rules define daily and total drawdown? What can invalidate an account? How are payouts reviewed? Are the rules archived and dated? If a condition is unclear, obtain written clarification before purchase.
